Science is a logical place for students to build their reading and writing skills and reading and writing are logical areas to integrate into science.
Program Description: Communication and critical reading are essential skills for scientists. Fiction, picture books and non-fiction books can be the basis for your inquiry science lesson. Student language skills are developed as they record data and express their ideas through words, graphics, arguments, and presentations.
This program inspires participants to actively explore the multiple ways to integrate science and literacy. Participants will have time explore how to apply what they learn their district, school and/or classroom.
