Program Description:

The NASA@MyLibary project brings public libraries, NASA supported scientists, and other state STEM agencies together to enhance STEM learning opportunities for millions of library patrons throughout the nation and to population areas that are currently underserved in STEM education.

Participating Organizations:

South Dakota Discovery Center
STAR-Net
SD State Library
Multiple libraries

Responsibilities:

Recruit NASA funded South Dakota scientists and researchers
Design and deliver the virtual training for the participating scientists
Assist participating scientists in developing their virtual presentations and activities
Organize scientist activity kits to be sent to libraries
Schedule presentations with libraries
Provide professional development workshops to libraries

The grant requires travel to all the eligible out of school programs in the state of SD. Managing the logistics is challenging to say the least, but Marie’s meticulous planning and organizational skills make our work efficient and effective.
